Miles 1st Day of Preschool
He was very excited to go this morning and started yelling "there's my school" when it was barely in sight. He walked in timidly but soon hung his backpack on his hook and scanned the room. A room of ALL BOYS!! Yes, Miles' class is all boys! Poor Mrs. Federspiel!
He didn't have a lot to tell me when he got home but here's what I've figured out...I know that he did not use his scissors, he did not glue today, but they had playdoh with lots of tools, they colored a picture of Jesus, he had a red popsicle for snack, he had to leave all of his new school supplies at school much to his disappointment, they learned the verse of "the Wheels on the Bus" that goes..."the driver on the bus says move on back" (I know because he sang just that verse about 100 times in a row after lunch) and apparently a man sprinked water on them in the church while his teacher was on stage (which I assume means that the priest blessed them and the teacher went on the altar) and there are kids in in class (he's not sure of their names but he knows were other kids in his class but no girls)....oh and he informed me that Jesus is in his stomach...but only when we use our imagination...
I love 3!

What a big day, your first day of preschool. I remember when your Dad and uncles had their first days. I hope you had fun at school and enjoyed your Popsicle.
I love you very much and can't wait to see you next week.
Love,

What an important day - your first day of school. I know that you will enjoy it, and do your very best.
Today I had lunch with a woman who had a dream when she was your age. She lived in Iran at the time. Her family moved to America, where she learned to speak English, and went to school and to university. She became an engineer, then started a company. She sold her company. Last year she became an astronaut, and visited the International Space station for 10 days in space.
So, Miles, please spend some time today dreaming of who and what you want to be.
Good luck - you can make your dream real.
Love,
Aunt Marie
You now are a big boy and will have lots of fun in school. See you next week. Love Grandaddy
