Our Family's G R O W I N G

Five months ago Shannon and I got word that the stork was scheduled to pay us a visit this upcoming May 9th. That's right we're having a baby and a BOY at that. He'll be a Flyer grad in 2026! Not sure exactly what or if I'll be updating eSchulte's main page that often but I do know I will be adding pictures to the picture section. So check back often to see what's going on with the Schulte's Take care, Mark

My name is Mark and I was born on January 20, 1978 (22). I live in Louisville, Kentucky, and go to school in Dayton, Ohio, my second home. I originally made this page for my MIS 175 class, but it's come a long way since then. Hopefully you will be able to learn a little bit more about me by surfing through my page. I attend the in Ohio, check out the page there it's great. I am a student in the School of Business (SBA) at UD, my major is Management Information System (MIS). Basically it deals with the computer aspect of business. Maybe one day I will have my own web company. On November 15, 1997 I became am a member of Delta Sigma Pi, a professional business fraternity here at UD. Back home in Louisville you can try to find my Family, you see they are very busy and hard to get a hold of. I have two younger brothers, David who's 19, and Jonathan who is 17. WHEN WE GOT ENGAGED

We went camping at East Fork State Park for the weekend. Arrived Friday afternoon and set up camp just before it stormed. On Saturday we woke up made a nice, big breakfast--well at least a big breakfast maybe not so nice. It was a beautiful day so we headed to the beach. We spent half the day floating in the lake and the rest hiking through the beautiful woods surrounding it. We made campers dinners (GTC style) and headed off to Mark's 1st drive in movie (there was a drive-in theater right across from the entrance to the park). It was about 11:30 when the movie was over and we got back to the campsite. Neither one of us were tired yet, so we built a big fire for toasting marshmallows. While Shannon was looking for good marshmallow sticks Mark was getting "everything else" ready. We got all the important s'mores ingredients out but we realized the graham crackers were missing. Flashlight in hand, Shannon headed back to the Jeep to find them. When she got back there was...

The Date Is Set

Image
That's right I said the 4 most feared words any man can say, "Will you marry me?" On Saturday July 15th I proposed to Shannon at East Fork State Park near Cincinnati, OH. Read all about the proposal on our Wedding Web Page. TheKnot.com helped us put it together. The date is set for July 21, 2001 in St. Louis, MO; Shannon's hometown. I guess that's all for now, check back with us soon, cause I'm sure the next year is gonna fly by.

2001 Year in Review

Image
Well it's been a very eventful year here at eSchulte.com. I graduated from the University of Dayton in May of 2001 with duel BS's in Management Information Systems (MIS) and Finance (FIN). I also completed my college baseball career. The Flyers set the single season win record and earned a birth to the A-10 Championship in Walt Disney World. In July I moved to St. Louis to get married, and I am happy to say that I now have a beautiful wife. The wedding was great, lots of family, friends and fun. Currently I am working at Maritz in St. Louis as a Technical Support Specialist. Shannon and I are doing great, still learning new things about each other everyday. I've been trying to stay active by finding a friend to work out with regularly. I'm also getting involved with the UD alumni chapter. As for the up coming year, Shannon ad I have a few small trips planned. David will graduating from Vandy, Jon is trying to get an internship with ESPN and Mom and Dad are trying to sta...

Back to the "Real World"

Image
Well my season with the Gateway Grizzlies has come to an end and boy what a summer it was. 84 games in less than 3 months with only 6 off days the whole summer. I know it's just baseball but man does my body ache. How lucky was I to be able play baseball all summer and get paid to do it. But now it's over and time to head back to the 'real world'. I wanted to check in with all of you and see if you had any leads on open positions in the St. Louis area. Anyway could you please keep you eyes open if you see any opportunities that look like they might interest me. Thanks sluggers. Take care, Mark

eSchulte.com Is Down

The company that host eSchulte.com [ValveNetwork.com] has shut down without notifying their customers. Until it comes back up only a few areas of eSchulte.com will be available. Luckily we use Yahoo! & DotPhoto.com to host our pictures, so they are ok. Stay tuned for updates. Hopefully I will be able to rebuild eSchulte from what I have backed up.

eSchulte.com Is Under Construction!

As you can see eSchulte has a new look. With ValveNetwork.com going belly up this summer I had to take action and find a new company to host eSchulte.com. With the help of my good friend Matt Schwade, who also lost a number of sites he created, we found a new Host for our web sites. That company is 1ASPHost.com. Well see how they do but Im not going to let what happen with ValveNetwork.com happen again Ill be backing up eSchulte early and often.

Halloween 2006

Image
This was Lucy's 1st Halloween and Miles 1st one where he really knew what was going on. I took Miles around the neighborhood for about a half hour. By the end he was telling me, "Daddy, legs tired." I picked him up and put him on my sholders and we headed back home for some 'candy testing'. Good times... the holidays are really getting fun now that the kids are starting to know what's going on. Till next time, enjoy!

General Election Results

Image
Excerpt from www.Silverthorn4Judge.com General Election Results I received over 76,366 votes on November 7, 2006 but lost our race for the Circuit Court Division 6 race 45% to 55% to the incumbent. We will forever remember the many new friends we have made and the wonderful experiences we have had over this last year. I deeply thank all of those who supported our campaign, worked as volunteers in our campaign and voted for me, and most importantly to my wife and family for their daily support. I recently purchased a print by an anonymous author which bears the inscription "When the day is over and you have done your best wait the results in peace." We are at peace tonight and I wish Marty McDonald the very best as he continues to serve as Circuit Court Judge. Bob Silverthorn

I feel a little sick today

Starting a New Chapter

Image
Just wanted to let everyone know that I accepted an outside sales position with Hoskin & Muir's Cardinal Shower Enclosure division [headquartered in Louisville] last week. My last day at Sensient will be the 15th and I start my 3 week training course in Louisville on the 18th. I'll be taking over the existing Missouri territory; mainly focusing on St. Louis and Kansas City. I know it's a change of pace but it's something I want to try before I get stuck in an IT career I'm not happy with. I'll be making more regular post to www.eSchulte.com so check in every once in a while. Hope everyone has a great holiday season. Take care, Mark

Stirring the Pott

Image
"Just a spot to get me, Joe Pott, stirred up. Title makes a little more sense now, doesn't it? Don't worry I'll try not to get too controversial. I work as the Play-by-play broadcaster and a Corporate Sales Associate for the Gateway Grizzlies, an independent league baseball club. A large chunk of my focus, especially in the summer, will be Grizzlies related. . .also the inspiration for the current color scheme! Read, enjoy and comment if you will." Joe is a friend of mine from Dayton and the Frontier League. Keep up the good work Joe! [Click the title above to view Joe's blog]

The Doctor is in the Ville

I'd like to welcome my brother David to the Blogging community. Here is an excerpt from his 1st post: "Here is the first post in the history of Dr. David Schulte. Shannon was able to pick up this Bell bike trailer off of Craigslist for $30 last week. I dusted off my old Schwinn, slapped on the biker shorts and hit the road with Miles in the trailer. Maybe this trailer will help motivate me to get in shape this spring. Boy do I need a tan ;-) Click on the title to see the album.

Quote by my former St. X classmate Jim James

"The city of Louisville, Kentucky is an odd metro-suburban mix of stark industry and fine thoroughbreds and rock and roll fevers. It's a place with no labels. It's not the South, it's not Chicago, and you don't think of it as you think of New York or LA. It has some Southern romanticism to it, but also a Northern progressivism, this weird urban island in the middle of the state of Kentucky that has always provided a fertile, often dark, bed. Louisville and the surrounding areas are the center of massive creativity and massive weirdness. The place has its flaws: You move away, but you're always going to come back." -Jim James, My Morning Jacket
